This is my very first Feature Follow Friday so I am super excited to do this! :)
This week's activity is:
First of all I would like to say that I totally love this prompt!
Now the book whose ending that I would like to change is:
Mockingjay by Suzzanne Collins (Hunger Games#3)
How I would like to change it:
- Prim grows old fells in love and becomes a notable doctor curing people and saving lives.
- Katniss and Peeta get together, they settle down in a partially remote area with field full of Prim Roses and eat Peeta amazing peeta bread :)
- President Snow lives and rots in a cell for his remaining miserable life.
- Finnick LIVES.
- There are no more Hunger Games.
Why I want to change it:
It's not that I hate sad and depressing endings I have read and liked several other books which have exceedingly more sadder endings, I have loved them! But this just didn't feel right to me it felt hollow and sudden everyone was just dying and I don't care if every single character in a book dies but it has to be justified it has to be lead it has to be caused and filled with depth. Mockingjay's ending partially ruined the series for me.
Okay I have to comment that I am IN LOVE with your blog layout. I don't know why, but it's so different and eyecatching.
ReplyDeleteSecond I agree with a lot of what you said. I also wish she would have chosen Peeta and it was presented as, "Hey this is her choice." Instead it's kind of like...we don't get to see if she would have really said goodbye to Gale. I wanted that finality you know?
I'm a new follower via GFC, bloglovin, and twitter.
Here's my Follow Friday post if you'd like to check it out.
Rebecca @ Vicariously!
Oh joy someone who agrees with me and thank you for such kind words I feel all gooey and warm inside out to check your FFF:)
DeleteAnd I totally get the Gale thing se should've said atleast something!
The chaos and the uncertainty of that world perhaps. Katniss' choice was left until the very end. So much has happened but I also didn't really have that reassurance of Katniss and Peeta.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for following.
Following right back.

checking out yours now :)
DeleteHopping through. I would like Finnick to live. I don't care whether or not Prim dies. I also wish Katniss had stayed with Peeta because she really loved him - I felt like she settled for him because she was too tired.
ReplyDeleteMy FF
Finnick just shouldn't have died in the end it seemed as if Collins was tired from the series and just wanted to finish it.
DeleteMockingjay is one of the few I don't think I would change. But I understand where you're coming from. The sense of heartache lingering at the end of story is hard to stomach, but I think it matches the story.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my FF! I'm following back.
P.S. I nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award! Check out the details here.
Yeah, I had problems with Mockingjay myself. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! New bloglovin follower. :)

DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. New Follower via GFC. i am not sure if there is anything I would change about Mockingjay but I do see where you are coming from.
ReplyDeleteofcourse everyone is entitled to there own opinion, happy reading :)
DeleteI haven't read this one so I can't read you post. New GFC follower. Thanks for following my blog. Your blog is so cute :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, happy reading :)
DeleteI agree with you, "Mockingjay" just didn't do the series justice. I don't always need a happy ending but the whole book just felt so defeated. Katniss was so passive in the book and the ending felt hollow. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award :D For details, click here

Thank you :)
DeleteYeah, Finnick should have lived. And Katniss shouldn't have ended with Peeta just because. There was a huge lack of development in that relationship.
ReplyDeleteNice layout! New follower :)
My FF
Thanks :)
DeleteI kind of agree. There comes a point when you're just asking "really?" and then wondering who the next person to bite the bullet will be. It starts to take the anticipation and suspense out of it.

Very well said my friend when an author starts killing off characters willy nilly it takes the depth and emotion out of it.
DeleteFinnick :( **runs off to her room to hug a pillow** how could I forget he dies. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF.
